  1. Community-Driven Development and Testing

OpenWiFi's development is community-centric, with over 100 participants, including service providers, OEMs, ODMs, and software vendors. This collaborative approach ensures that the platform evolves to meet real-world requirements and facilitates rapid development and deployment of features .

  1. OpenWiFi Validation Labs

Validation is supported by both dedicated and community labs. Candela Technologies (India) operates a large-scale lab focused on automated regression, scalability, and performance testing across real AP hardware. CableLabs (USA) and ITRI (Taiwan) in the past served as community labs enabling global operators and vendors to validate features, ensure interoperability, and participate in TIP’s certification framework.

  1. Automated Testing Tools

The OpenWiFi project utilizes automated testing frameworks, such as pytest, integrated with tools like Allure for reporting. These tools ensure consistent testing across different hardware and software combinations, facilitating continuous integration and deployment .
